Vadra, 56, was called for questioning in the case on June 10, but refrained from interrogation that he had flu -like symptoms on 9 June and conducted a covid test as per the protocol.

The Enforcement Directorate (ED) has issued a new summons to Congress MP Priyanka Gandhi Vadra businessman husband Robert Vadra for questioning in the money laundering case related to British -based arms advisor Sanjay Bhandari. Official sources gave this information on Monday. Sources said that he has been asked to appear before the Federal Investigation Agency on 17 June to record the statement in this case. The matter is being investigated under the Money Prevention Act (PMLA).

Vadra, 56, was called for questioning in the case on June 10, but refrained from interrogation that he had flu -like symptoms on 9 June and conducted a covid test as per the protocol. His lawyer then said that Vadra had no intention of avoiding summons and he is ready to appear before the ED before or after traveling abroad at the end of this month. It is believed that the agency has summoned Vadra’s statement under PMLA and then to file a charge sheet in the case.

The federal investigative agency questioned the businessman for three consecutive days in a separate money laundering case in a 2008 land deal in Haryana for three consecutive days. He is being investigated by the ED in three cases of money laundering. Bhandari (63) fled to London soon after the Income Tax Department raided Delhi in 2016. A UK court rejected the application filed to seek permission to appeal to the Supreme Court of the UK against the acquittal of Bhandari in the extradition case by the Government of India earlier this month, almost the possibility of bringing him to the country to face the law.
