Former Defense Secretary Ajay Kumar appointed the new chairman of UPSC, has an important role in Agniveer Scheme

Former Defense Secretary Ajay Kumar has been appointed as the new chairman of the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC). President Drappadi Murmu has also given an official order on his appointment on Tuesday. Preeti Sudan’s term has been completed on 29 April this year. Since then, the post of President of UPSC was vacant.

Let us know that the new chairman of UPSC Ajay Kumar is a 1985 batch intake officer of the Indian Administrative Service. He belongs to Kerala cadre. He worked as the Defense Secretary from 23 August 2019 to 31 October 2022 and discharged his responsibilities. Please tell that Ajay Kumar will remain the President of UPSC till October 2027. Explain that the rule in UPSC is that the tenure of the president or the age of six years or will be 65 years old.
 
UPSC conducts the Civil Services Examination under the process of selection of officers in the services of the Indian Administrative Service (IAS), Indian Foreign Service (IFS), Indian Police Service (IPS). The board is formed in collaboration with a chairman and 10 members in UPSC. Currently, the post of two members in the commission is also vacant.

He is the former secretary who worked in the Inter -State Council Secretariat under the Ministry of Home Affairs. He has administered the oath of office and secrecy by the senior member of the Commission, Lt Gen Raj Shukla (retired).
