On Saturday, a suspected gangster involved in the recovery gang was arrested after an encounter with a police on the Zirakpur-Ambala highway in Mohali. Police said this information was given.
Police said the gangster Goldie Brar and Malkiyat alias Maxi, associated with Goldie Dhillon, opened fire on the police, in response to which the police also fired. Director General of Police Gaurav Yadav said in a post on ‘X’, “The SAS Nagar Police arrested the AGTF as part of the AGTF, the gangster Malkiyat alias Maxi, a henchman of terrorists Goldie Brar and gangster Goldie Dhillon, was arrested after the encounter near the Zirakpur-Ambala Highway, SAS Nagar.”
Yadav said, Maxi has been shot in his left leg and has been admitted to Civil Hospital, Mohali for treatment. He said that a pistol has been recovered from him.
Maxi, a resident of Rodala village in Rajasansi, Amritsar, is accused in many cases of forced recovery. The DGP said, he was involved in the forcible recovery gang led by Goldie Brar and Goldie Dhillon.
Recently, he had asked for Rs 50 lakhs targeting a property dealer from Mohali. Gangster Satinderjit Singh alias Goldie Brar, who lives in Canada, has been declared a terrorist by the Government of India.
