Rajya Sabha Deputy Chairman Harivansh on Friday advised Congress leader Rahul Gandhi to take precautions in his statements questioning the Center and Armed Forces regarding Operation Sindoor. Harivansh gave the example of Atal Bihari Vajpayee, who did not protest against former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi during the 1971 war with Pakistan. The Deputy Chairman of the Rajya Sabha said that there could not be a more shocking, tragic and informationless statement than this. This is the time when we all should stand together.
Harivansh also reminded Rahul that the UPA government had allegedly hidden the news of a soldier’s head beheaded near the Pakistan border, while the then Prime Minister Manmohan Singh was scheduled to meet US President Barack Obama. Harivansh said, “Brahma Chelani wrote in 2013 that the terrorists put the head of our soldiers in the Keran sector near the Pakistan border. At that time the Prime Minister was in the US and he was to meet the then US President Obama. The news was hidden from the country.” He said, “Don’t go to the past, otherwise I will mention 2,500 incidents from 2004 to 2014. Thousands of occasions came when you should have taken action, but you did not.
This came after the claim posted on social media by Rahul Gandhi in which he claimed that India’s foreign policy under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi has collapsed and he gave Foreign Minister S.K. Urged Jaishankar to explain why India was linked to Pakistan and who asked US President Donald Trump to “mediate” between the two South Asian neighbors. This came after Rahul’s claim in which he said that the Center had informed Pakistan “initially” by Operation Sindoor and said that it was not a “lapse” but a “crime”.
On May 17, Rahul shared a unproven video of Jaishankar in which the minister can hear that “India warned Pakistan before attacking the terrorist structure”. The Ministry of External Affairs clarified that the government had warned Pakistan in the early phase after the commencement of Operation Sindoor, not before the operation started. It mentioned that Jaishankar had said, “We had warned Pakistan in the early stage after the commencement of Operation Sindoor.”
