All -rounder Ravindra Jadeja credited the domestic tournament on Sunday, 9 February 2025, for the domestic tournament coming into the rhythm before the ongoing ODI series against England. In two matches against England, Jadeja not only ended the match by batting, but also took 6 wickets and also reinforced the run speed of the opposition team in the middle overs.
Ravindra Jadeja told reporters in Cuttack after India’s 4 -wicket win, I am playing for the first time in almost two years after the World Cup final. I have to get used to this format. I think the domestic tournament has helped me a lot. Prior to this match, Ravindra Jadeja played two Ranji Trophy matches. Ravindra Jadeja bowled 30 overs in Delhi player in the Ranji Trophy and took 10 wickets, while he did not bowl against Assam.
Ravindra Jadeja said that, I bowled more than 30 overs in the Ranji Trophy, so there was a continuity in the rhythm. Whether it is Test match or ODI, I try to bowl on the same line and length. The rhythm had continuity because the break was not too long. I think domestic sports helped me a lot. Ravindra Jadeja is one of the five spinners whom India has selected in the 15 -member team for the Champions Trophy.
He said that, it is a good thing that we are going to play. When we go there, we will know what the wicket will be like. But if the spin department is doing well then I think it is good for the team. Ravindra Jadeja said that, if you are taking wickets with 5 fielders in the middle overs, you have stopped the run flow and not giving easy boundary then it is good.
