What is the whole matter
In its previous meetings, PTI presented a charter of demands which included the formation of judicial commissions on May 9, 2023 to investigate violent protests and action on PTI on 26 November 2024. PTI has said that it will only join it, if these commissions are formed then there will be a meeting on Tuesday. Committee spokesperson Siddiqui said on his behalf that a reply will be presented in the meeting in response to the demands of PTI. Siddiqui told Jio TV that no response could be given before the seven -day time limit. We will respond to the Judicial Commission’s demand for PTI in the next round of talks on 28 January. Siddiqui further said that PTI is taking the issue to the streets instead of meetings.
Imran is in jail since 2023
Pakistani media has stated that the committee has discussed the demands of PTI and finalized that the commission cannot be formed in connection with the May 9 incident. On May 9, 2023, PTI’s Imran supporters attacked military facilities across the country including the homes of army headquarters and senior commanders. The PTI is agitating against the Pakistani Army and the political parties that it considers associated with the army. After Imran’s overthrow in the trust vote in 2022, he alleged that the opposition parties at that time had met the Pakistani Army and the US government to remove him. Imran has been in jail since 2023 and more than 100 cases have been registered against him and many senior leaders of his party have also been imprisoned. Imran and PTI say that these cases are inspired by politics.
