India’s star Javelin thrower Nirch Chopra will go to play in the Paris Diamond League to be held on June 20. Neeraj will take part in the Paris phase of this tournament after eight years. Neeraj has finished second in two consecutive tournaments and his eyes will now be on top in this competition. Neeraj did not participate in it due to focus on the Olympic Games last year.
Neeraj last participated in the Paris Diamond League as a junior world champion in 2017 and then finished fifth with a throw of 84.67 meters. The organizers of the Paris Diamond League have not yet published a complete list of contestants but have announced that Neeraj and two -time world champion Grenada Anderson Peters are among the five players who have already crossed the 90 meter mark. Peters finished third after Nanj in Doha Diamond League on 16 May and Janus Kusosinski Memorial in Poland on 23 May.
Neeraj started the 2025 season with the title in an invitation competition in Potchefstruj, South Africa. It was a modest competition of F category in which he threw 84.52 meters. He then crossed the 90 -meter magical mark with a throw of 90.23 meters in the Doha Diamond League on 16 May but finished second. Julian Weber of Germany secured the top position with 91.06 meters.
