The base price in the IPL 2025 mega auction was Rs 30 lakh. Which means that the player sold for the lowest money to play in IPL 2025 was also bid for at least 30 lakh rupees. If a player gets 30 lakh rupees to play an alga season, then he will have to pay 30 percent tax. Under the budget released for the next session, if a person earns more than 24 lakh rupees a year, he will have to pay 30 percent tax.
Which means that the player earning 30 lakh rupees will have to pay 30 percent tax i.e. 9 lakh rupees as tax. Since the least earnings from the IPL are Rs 30 lakh, every player playing the next season will have to pay 30 percent tax.
Significantly, Rishabh Pant was sold as the most expensive player in the IPL 2025 mega auction. Which were bought by Lucknow Super Giants for Rs 27 crore. In such a situation, they will have to pay a tax of 30 percent i.e. 8 crore 10 lakh rupees.
