The ICC on Tuesday announced the ICC Player of the Month winner for the month of December 2024. In this episode, India’s star fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah has been chosen as the best player of the month in the men’s category. Bumrah has won the ICC Player of the Month Award by defeating Pat Cummins and South African fast bowler Dane Patterson in this matter. He has achieved the feat of winning this award for the second time.

Bumrah had bowled lethally during the Australia tour. He took 22 wickets at an average of 14.22 in three Tests in December. He has taken 9-9 wickets in the fourth and fifth matches. Bumrah took a total of 32 wickets in the five-match BGT against Australia. He was unable to bowl in the second innings in the final Test against Australia in Sydney due to back stiffness. He was chosen Player of the Series. India lost the series 1-3 to the Cummins-led team.

Cummins took 17 wickets at an average of 17.64 in three Tests against India in December. On the other hand, Patterson bowled brilliantly against Sri Lanka and Pakistan and played an important role in South Africa’s victory. He took 13 wickets in two Tests at an average of 16.92. Australia and South Africa have entered the final of the World Test Championship, which is to be played in London in June.

Bumrah said that I am thrilled to be selected as the ICC Player of the Month for the month of December. It is always humbling to be selected for individual awards.
