The Karnataka government has now made a big statement in the stampede case during the celebration of RCB’s victory at M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bangalore on 4 June. During the court hearing, the government has clearly blamed BCCI and RCB as responsible for the accident.
The Karnataka government on Wednesday directly held RCB and BCCI responsible for the stampede outside M Chinnaswamy Stadimi of Bengaluru. 11 people died in this accident. The government told the High Court that no permission was taken for this event and the organizers had called the whole world through social media.
Let me tell you, this came to light when the petition of four people was heard in the court, including RCB’s marketing head Nikhil Sosale. These people have challenged their arrest. The case is being heard by a single bench of High Court Judge SR Krishna Kumar.
Advocate General Shashi Kiran Shetty, who appeared on behalf of the state government, said in the court that RCB won the match against Punjab on 29 May and he knew that he had reached the finals. Despite this, he neither took permission to take out a procession of victory nor sought permission to celebrate in the stadium.
Shetty further stated that the organizers gave a letter to the administration just one hour before the match started on June 3, which wrote that they would organize a Victory Parade. That is, they were not asking for permission, just giving information about their plan.
Despite this, RCB made several posts on social media from 11.30 am on the night of June 3 to the morning of June 4, in which the fans were called to attend the Victory Parade and Celebration.
At the same time, the Advocate General said in the court that it seemed as if he had called the whole world. He said that around 3.5 to 4 lakh people reached outside the stadium while the stadium had a capacity of only 33,000 people. He also said that the organizers never told who will be allowed inside. It was only written in his social media posts that all the fans come and cheer for the team.
The government also told the court that there was an agreement between RCB and BCCI regarding gate management, ticketing and security. According to which the franchise and the Cricket Board were responsible for handling the crowd. It was earlier said that for this event, three parties had compromised with DNA Entertainment Company and KSCA but it was misunderstood and improved in the court.
