West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee has been accused by the BJP-led government at the Center of appeasement of minorities and giving shelter to Bangladeshis in Bengal. But these days, atrocities are being committed against Hindu minorities in Bangladesh and the above news is coming in the media every day. In such a situation, even though the country’s PM Narendra Modi has not made any statement on the said issue, Mamata Banerjee has strongly raised this international issue and has even declared the Mohammad Yunus government of Bangladesh as a failure. Mamata Banerjee, while responding to a statement emanating from Bangladesh, clearly said that if they talk about occupying the states of our country like Bihar, Bengal, Odisha, then she will not sit and suck lollipops. Also, Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee spoke very seriously and at the international level. Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee said in the state assembly today that the UN should intervene on the situation in Bangladesh and send a special peacekeeping force there.
India has always been a symbol of peace in the world. Mamta Banerjee said that at present an atmosphere of conflict has arisen in Bangladesh. The interim Yunus government appears to have failed to resolve this. In such a situation, peace should be established there by sending a peacekeeping force. Mamata Banerjee, while talking about standing with the Modi government on the said international issue, has proved that she is a successful leader in matters ranging from politics to diplomacy and she knows what to do when. Along with this, the Trinamool chief also gave a message to the society that some people can spoil the mutual goodwill, in such a situation one should act with peace and wisdom. If seen, the kind of reaction that the Hindu community was expecting from the Modi government on the issue of Bangladesh was not seen. It is a different matter that even though the PM has not come forward, the Center has given a signal to Bangladesh that India’s eyes are not closed on the matter. Whereas RSS has expressed concern about the attacks on Hindus in Bangladesh. Also appealed to the Central Government to take strict action. Congress has also put forward its stand on the issue. But if seen, Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee has gone a step ahead in matters of politics and diplomacy regarding the attacks on Hindus in Bangladesh.

Even when Mamata Banerjee was an MP, she had raised the issue of illegal Bangladeshis in Bengal during the Left Front rule in Bengal. But even after the formation of Mamata Banerjee’s government, the issue of illegal Bangladeshis has continued to arise in Bengal. However, in comparison to the central leaders of BJP, the leaders of Bengal BJP are also almost silent on the issue of continuous atrocities on Hindu minorities in Bangladesh. But in Bengal, Leader of Opposition and BJP leader Subhendu Adhikari is strongly expressing his protest on the said matter and is also warning Bangladesh. However, now Bangladesh has admitted that after the ouster of Sheikh Hasina government, there have been 88 incidents of violence against minorities, especially Hindus, in the country. Shafiqul Alam, press secretary of interim government chief Mohammad Yunus, said that 70 people have been arrested in these incidents. A total of 88 cases were registered between August 5 and October 22 regarding incidents related to minorities. He said the cases and arrests may increase further as new incidents of violence have come to light in many areas. Actually, the oppression of minority Hindus in Bangladesh is not a new thing. Whatever be the government there, Hindus have always been the target.
If we talk about the then incident in Bangladesh, it started with the arrest of ISKCON monk Chinmoy Krishna Das. First he was detained on charges of treason and then his associates. There have even been arrests for providing food from outside to these sadhus in jail, because due to their food rules, they cannot eat anything or anywhere. Then when the Hindu community started protesting, attacks started on them and today the Hindu community is facing torture there. However, if we talk about politics and diplomacy in simple words by keeping two countries in front, then it can be said that no one can say when and what will change in politics. Nothing is permanent with any claim here. But if we talk about diplomacy, it can be said that when it comes to the country, the people and issues related to it, politics cannot be done there, rather diplomacy is more effective there. If seen, Mamata Banerjee seems to have gone a step ahead on the above issue.
