The Maharashtra government on Monday introduced a bill, demanding the establishment of Nashik-Trayambakeshwar Kumbh Mela Authority for the Vishal Kumbh Mela starting on 31 October next year. The new bill provides for the establishment of an authority for organizing and management of Nashik and Trimbakeshwar as well as Kumbh Mela in other areas and its related activities. Keep in mind that the ordinance on this authority was issued after the Devendra Fadnavis cabinet was approved on June 4 this year.

A committee of ministers will also be constituted to review the work of the authority from time to time. Simhastha Kumbh Mela will begin on 31 October next year with ‘Flag hoisting’ (flag hoisting) in Trimbakeshwar and Ramkund in Nashik. The flag will be launched on July 24, 2028, which will conclude this mega event to be held once every 12 years. Many crore pilgrims are expected to attend this mega event.
