Along with the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), the General Secretary of ‘All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam’ (AIADMK), E.K. Palaniswami said that no party can dominate his party that ruled Tamil Nadu for more than 30 years, no matter how big it is.
Responding to the party’s sharp criticism amidst speculation that the BJP dominates the AIADMK, Palaniswami said that his party is more than 50 years old, it has ruled Tamil Nadu for about 31 years and no such big party can dominate.
Several parties including the ruling DMK and Viduthalai Chiruthagal Kachi (VCK) have strongly criticized the AIADMK’s alliance with the BJP. Addressing a public meeting on Sunday, the former Chief Minister expressed confidence that his party would win the 2026 assembly elections and form the government with a majority as the largest party.
Expressing confidence of forming a strong alliance before the upcoming assembly elections, Palaniswami said that the alliance with the BJP is only the first phase. Palaniswami targeted Stalin for criticizing AIADMK for aligning with BJP and asked why the Chief Minister is worrying about this?
The head of the AIADMK said, “Stalin is nervous.” He said that the Chief Minister is not able to tolerate an alliance between AIADMK and BJP. Emphasizing that his party will resume cases against DMK leaders after coming to power, Palaniswami said, “Now the Palaniswami you are going to see will be different from before.”
The AIADMK leader alleged that during the DMK government, there has been a large -scale corruption in many departments including registration offices. He alleged, “There is no place where there is no corruption.” Commission, recovery, corruption – all these are seen only in the DMK government. This is the biggest achievement of DMK’s four -year rule.
