The Metropolitan Magistrate Court of Chennai has issued a non-bailable warrant (NBW) against Vipul Joshi, Chief Financial Officer (CFO) of Ideaforge Technology Limited. According to the report of India Today, it is being told that he did not appear in the court and failed to deposit the bail amount. The case arises from the FIR filed by Chennai Cybercrime Police on August 31, 2023. According to the complaint, Ideaforge had supplied 15 drones (UAVs) worth Rs 2.2 crore to a customer, but later hacked the drone, which damaged the customer’s reputation and obstructed his government projects worth Rs 70 crore. The court had directed all the accused including first CEO Ankit Mehta, Director Rahul Singh, General Manager Somil Gautam and CFO Vipul Joshi to appear in the court by April 1, 2025 and present a bail amount of Rs 25,000 and two legitimate bail.
However, when the matter came to hear, it was found that the accused had presented fake bails to those who had no connection with the company and were unaware of the details of the case. According to the website NDTV of English, the accused were given a clear instruction on 4 March 2025 to fulfill the conditions of bail by 1 April. CFO Vipul Joshi did not appear, while the others used fake guards, who did not even know the name of the company. The court considered it an attempt to mislead the judiciary and called it a serious offense. Also warned that if any person tries to grant bail with fraud in future, then he may also have to go to jail.
However, ignoring it, the court has given the accused the last chance to submit the bail bond by April 4. Earlier, the company approached the Madras High Court to dismiss the allegations against them, but his prayer was rejected on 31 January. Another request was also rejected in the Supreme Court to stop proceedings against him.
