He said that the gas was leaking from a valve of the tanker truck parked in the industrial estate. He said that some people present in the area had left from there after the smell of gas before the tanker exploded. Ali further said that the gas leak from the tanker continues, causing the authorities to vacate the area. The condition of 13 of the injured is said to be critical.
In Pakistan’s Punjab province, LPG tanker exploded at least six, while 31 others were injured. According to rescue officials, the incident occurred at an industrial estate in Hamid Pur Kanora area of Multan. According to the report of Geo News, the explosion in the LPG tanker caused a fierce fire on Monday and the debris of the broken vehicle fell into the surrounding residential areas, causing great destruction.
Rescue officials said the fire was extinguished after hours of effort, including more than ten fire fighting vehicles and foam-based fire suppression. Initially, a total of five people were reported killed in this deadly explosion. However, the death toll increased to six after rescue officials recovered another body from a house damaged by the explosion. The report states that the dead include a minor girl and two women. Police said that at least 20 houses around the explosion site were completely converted into debris, while 70 were partially damaged.
