According to the report of the news agency Associated Press, no group has taken responsibility for the attack inside Jamia Hakkania yet. This madrasa is known for relationships with Afghan Taliban.
The bomb blast occurred before Ramadan, the holy month of Muslims, which is expected to begin on Saturday or Sunday when the moon is seen.It was given the surname “University of Jihad” due to its fierce ideology and the number of Taliban fighters born from it.
There are about 4,000 students in this huge campus, who are given food, clothes and education in free. For decades, Pakistani madrasas have been working as an incubator for extremism, where thousands of refugees are educated, who have no other option for education other than speeches of radical clerics. The Taliban founder Mullah Umar, who led the rebellion against the United States and NATO soldiers in Afghanistan, was one of the senior leaders graduating from the school.
Similarly, Jalaluddin Haqqani, the founder of the dangerous Haqqani network, also graduated, who was responsible for some of the most terrible attacks in Afghanistan during the two decades of war. The school has been at the intersection of regional militant violence for many years, where many Pakistanis and Afghan refugees are educated – some of which returned home to wage war against Russians and Americans or to promote jihad. After the removal of the foreign army in August 2021 and the fall of the former government, the Taliban again came to power in Kabul.Since then, extremism has increased again in the border areas with Afghanistan.
According to the Islamabad -based analysis group Center for Research and Security Studies, last year was the deadliest for Pakistan in a decade, with an increase in attacks, killing over 1,600 people.Islamabad accused the rulers of Kabul to be uprooted to root out the terrorists who have taken refuge on Afghan land, while they are preparing to attack Pakistan, the Taliban government denies the allegation.
