A few days after YouTuber Jyoti Malhotra’s arrest on charges of spying for Pakistan, a Pakistani journalist and social media influencer Heera Batul has come out in support of him. The journalist opposed the arrest without naming Jyoti. Jyoti was arrested on May 16 from the New Agrasen Extension in Hisar, Haryana and a case was registered under the official secrecy act and related sections of BNS. She was among the 12 people who were arrested from Punjab, Haryana and Uttar Pradesh on charges of espionage in the last two weeks, the investigators allegedly pointed to Pakistan -related espionage network in North India.

In a post on Instagram without naming Jyoti, Batul said that India has now started targeting its own people. India, stop unnecessary movements. According to the findings of the intelligence agency, many social media posts related to Pakistan became popular due to coordinated publicity by influential people across the border, including diamond bottles.

He is accused of sharing sensitive information with Pakistani intelligence agency ISI and promoting anti -India statement. Investigation revealed that Jyoti was in contact with Ehsan-ur-Rahim alias Danish, an employee of Pakistan High Commission since 2023, which was expelled from the country on 13 May, 2025 on the charge of espionage by the Government of India.
