pm modi receives highest civilian honour in cyprus also meets head of state

Prime Minister Narendra Modi was awarded the Grand Cross of the Order of Makios III on 16 June to Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Accepting the honor, the Prime Minister dedicated the award to friendship between the two countries. Earlier, Narendra Modi was officially welcomed by Cyprus President Nicos Christodolidase at Rashtrapati Bhavan in Nicosia. After the ceremony, the two leaders introduced their delegations and held bilateral discussions. This is an Indian Prime Minister’s first visit to Cyprus. Prime Minister Modi reached the island country on Sunday afternoon (local time) as part of his three countries visit to Cyprus, Canada and Croatia. He was welcomed by President Christodolidase at Larnaka International Airport and later warmly welcomed the Indian community members in Limasol.

Prime Minister Modi and President Christodolidase also interacted with the leading CEOs of both countries. Discussions focused on strengthening commercial relations, especially in areas such as innovation, energy and technology. PM Modi said in the post on X that business relations promote! President Nicos Christodolidase and I interacted with the CEO leading to further strengthening the commercial relations between India and Cyprus … I also talked about India’s reform path in the last decade. The Cyprus Presidency also reiterated this feeling and said that the two countries are entering a new era of strategic partnership.
