Rana Sanga, instead of considering Shivaji as an ideal, people of the opposition are remembering Aurangzeb: Anurag Thakur

Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MP Anurag Thakur took a dig at the opposition on Monday and said that instead of considering Rana Sanga, Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj and Maharana Pratap as ideals, these people are engaged in remembering Babur and Aurangzeb.

Participating in the discussion on the Finance Bill, 2025 in the Lok Sabha, Thakur referred to a commentary without naming the Nationalist Congress Party (SP) member Supriya Sule. Sule had reacted to BJP MP Nishikant Dubey’s speech in the House and said that people of the ruling party repeatedly talk about old-fashioned people.

Anurag Thakur said, “There is talk of digging the grave here. It was said that why the dead are being uprooted. “He targeted the opposition members and said,” These people are still running with the 17th century Mughal thinking. Rana Sanga, Shivaji Maharaj and Maharana Pratap should have been his ideals, but they are engaged in remembering Babur and Aurangzeb. ”

Thakur said, “People of the opposition repeatedly try to humiliate our ancestors, heroes. How much will these vote banks fall down for the bank. ”Thakur said in his attack on the Congress and other opposition parties on the taxation issue in the country that the opposition people remember the Mughal ruler who had done the work of imposing a tax on Hindus in the name of religion.

He said that former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi had imposed 93.5 percent tax, while Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s government has made an annual income of up to Rs 12 lakh.

Describing the Finance Bill as historic, visionary and transformative, Thakur said that Prime Minister Modi has worked to bring the economy from a period of uncertainty to unprecedented development.
