According to an official release, inspection of both facilities revealed several serious shortcomings, which were threatened to fire safety, due to which the fire department stopped certification until the problems were resolved.

The Delhi Fire Services Department (DFS) has refused to give fire security certificate (FSC) to Delhi Police Headquarters and Dr. BR Ambedkar Hospital. A DFS official gave this information on Friday.

According to the DFS official, both establishments were not found to be complying with the major fire safety norms. According to an official release issued by DFS, inspection of both facilities revealed several serious deficiencies, which were threatened for fire protection, due to which the fire department stopped certification until the problems were resolved.

The 17 -storey Delhi Police Headquarters campus located on Jai Singh Road applied for FSC renewal on 21 April. After a joint inspection with Delhi Police personnel on 30 May, DFS identified at least four serious violations. The Delhi Police Headquarters was inaugurated in 2019 and is spread over 8.09 acres.
