Russia launched nuclear power -powered submarines, nuclear missiles from immense sea

Russian President Vladimir Putin launched a nuclear -powered submarine equipped with hypersonic zircon missiles, able to travel several times higher than the speed of voice. The TASS news agency reported that it took place during his visit to Marmank in the northern region of the country. This submarine named ‘Prem’ is a multi -purpose nuclear -powered submarine of Russian fourth generation. It is also the sixth in a series of submarines of 885/885M Yasain-Tears, built in Sevamash Shipyard for the Russian Navy. The nail of the submarine was kept on 29 July 2016. Putin appreciated the launch of the new submarine, saying that the vessel would strengthen Russia’s maritime security and protect its national interests, especially in strategic areas such as Arctic. This development has occurred at a time when Moscow continues to increase its military capabilities amid global stress.

The center of this advanced arsenal is the Zircon Hypersonic missile, which is famous for its extraordinary speed and accuracy. Jirkon, who entered the Russian Army arsenal in early 2023, is mainly designed as an anti-ship missile, but has also been deployed in attacks against Ukrainian cities. According to media reports, the missile was first used in February 2024 against Ukraine. The speed of the Zircon missile is about 8-9 Mac or about 10,000 kilometers per hour, and its warhead weighs 300–400 kg.

Russia’s submarine capabilities
The Russian Navy continues to capture one of the world’s largest and most formidable submarine fleet, with an estimated 64 ships. Its 16 nuclear power -powered ballistic missile submarines (SSBN) at the center of its strategic preventive capabilities, which remain an important component of Russia’s defense structure.
