The second semi -final match of the Champions Trophy 2025 will be played between New Zealand and South Africa in Lahore on Wednesday, 5 March. BCCI Vice President Rajiv Shukla will go to Pakistan to watch this match. Rajiv Shukla will be present during the match at Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore. Let me tell you, according to India Today, Rajiv Shukla will stay in Pakistan for two days and will return to India on 6 March.
Rajiv Shukla also visited Pakistan for the Asia Cup 2023 when the tournament was held in the hybrid model and was accompanied by BCCI President Roger Binny. In the Champions Trophy 2025, Team India refused to go to Pakistan citing security reasons. Pakistan initially did not agree to hold India’s match on a neutral venue, but later the PCB allowed it with certain conditions.
In lieu of India not going to Pakistan, the PCB had also talked about not sending Pakistan to India, which was accepted by the ICC and the Pakistan team will not participate in any ICC tournament to be held in India by 2028. This means that Pakistan’s team will not visit India for the T20 World Cup to be held in 2026 and the Women’s World Cup to be held in 2025. Pakistan will play all its matches in the hybrid format during this period.
