There were many reports of discord in the dressing style of Team India during the Australia tour. There was a huge uproar after this. Indian team’s head coach Gautam Gambhir had then said that if the conversations between the players and the coach remain limited to him, it would be good for the overall atmosphere of the team. Now after returning to India, BCCI held a review meeting regarding all these things. During this, Gambhir accused Sarfaraz Khan, who was on tour, of cheating. According to the report, he claimed in the meeting that Sarfaraz was the one who leaked everything.
Board officials recently held a review meeting with Team India head coach and chief selector Ajit Agarkar. During this meeting many issues including demonstration were discussed. According to media reports, during this time BCCI was told that Sarfaraz Khan was sharing the things of the dressing room with the media outside. Gambhir specifically mentioned a news published in the Indian Express, in which it was said that Gambhir got angry at the players after the defeat in the Melbourne Test.
After losing the match in Melbourne, Gambhir’s anger erupted in the dressing room on the entire team including Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli. Apart from Gambhir, a news was published in the name of Mr. Fix It. Regarding this, it was revealed in the media reports that a player of the team was not in favor of making Bumrah the captain. This player was presenting himself as the interim captain. Although, the name of this player was not revealed, but Virat Kohli was said to be this player. However, it is not yet clear whether Gambhir has provided any evidence for his claims or not.
Even before Australia, during the 2019 ODI World Cup, news of the fight between Rohit and Virat was leaked. After this one or two players were thrown out of the team. Now the question is whether the board will take such action again. Will drop Sarfaraz Khan from the team. However, nothing can be said regarding this yet. Because official statements have not come out.
