Social media is making children violent and ill

The increasing use of social media is not only affecting the childhood of children, but is also becoming sick, violent and criminal. This is worrying and challenging. It can affect children negatively towards time, family and social skills and mental health. Social media has not only taken away child-accessible sports from children, but has also deprived of grandmother and grandmother’s stories. Some experts are worried that due to excessive use of social media, children are also becoming immoral, fierce, stubborn and aggressive, who are pushing them into anxiety and depression. Children are spending more time on social media, online games have changed the world of children. Now this voice has started raising that why should not the use of social media be banned for children? In an international report by Ten’s Harparkolins and Nielsen IQ, similar concern has revealed that a large number of young parents are giving priority to digital entertainment rather than stories. Stories ranging from Panchatantra to Snow White Pinocio are now blowing dust on the shelf. Social media is dissolving poison in the newly constructed society and family.
The smartphone has come in the hands of children, not only elders. Not only young and old, even small children are getting accustomed to it. WhatsApp, Facebook, games are everything on smartphones, its habit of children and youth is now gradually turning into addiction. At the time of sleeping, children used to be an important part of family culture for telling stories or singing lullabies for them. Be it grandmother-grandmother or parents’ hearing of parents were the most beloved memories before sleep. But now with the arrival of social media, childhood is being deserted without it. Children are getting away from books and sports grounds. The blue light of the screen is also affecting the mental health with their eyes. Apart from this, physical labor and creativity has also reduced. It has become the truth of not only western countries but also the truth of India. Born between 1996 and 2010, young parents, born between 1996 and 2010, are now turning away from this cute tradition. Recent researches have shown that now reading stories and listening to Jane Z parents has become a tired work, not responsibility and entertainment. Mobile is now not only a problem for children, but also big. It has not been limited to just call or message. Don’t know how many types of apps, social media apps like WhatsApp, Facebook, and games keep the elders and children busy throughout the day. But if you are restless without mobile, then understand that you are also becoming a victim of this addiction, which is a matter of concern for you.

The latest report of Ten’s Harparkolins and Nielsen IQ states that the trend of social media in India, especially in metropolitan and urban areas, is increasing more in children. Instead of considering reading as part of entertainment and knowledge, reading is being linked to ‘serious studies’. According to the report, the new generation of parents feel that it is an additional responsibility to tell the story to the children. The changing nature of urbanization and family structure has led to major changes in the last ten years, there are now single families instead of joint family, where members who narrate story like grandmother are not present. Due to lack of time, busyness and fatigue of working life, parents do not have time to tell the story to children. The parents of the new generation have gone away from the habit of reading themselves, which do not inspire children. The school’s homework is also a major obstacle in this. According to reports of the report, only 41 percent of the parents tell the story to their children up to four years of age. Whereas in 2012 the figure was 64 percent. 28 percent of Gen Z parents do not consider reading a fun activity.
Children’s presence on social media channels is taking them away from real life and taking them to the virtual world. Where there is a glut of showyness and negativity. Due to this, the childhood of children is being taken away, their mental and physical development is also being blocked. Social media i.e. YouTube-Esta, other social site addiction is removing children from the real world and making them crippled, sick and violent by reducing their concentration, memory and attention ability. Children are getting accustomed to finding their questions or finding the problem in books and finding it on mobile, which is not appropriate. Mobile and cyber addiction is now becoming a serious problem which is affecting the routine of children. Due to this, mental deviations and irritability are increasing that we have started getting angry at family members on small matters.
The mobile is not only snatching his childhood from your child but also making him violent. In Haryana, a 9 -year -old child was so badly addicted to it that he tried to cut his hand due to snatching the smartphone. This is not the only case of mobile addiction. 12 -year -old Avinash cannot live a moment without mobile. If the mobile is taken away from it, then it gets angry. Priya of Bhopal University is like this. She got so addicted to WhatsApp that she woke up all night. Now she is taking counseling in a mental hospital to get rid of this addiction. Due to mobile addiction, children are also becoming criminal and taking wrong steps. Recently, a 16 -year -old boy murdered his mother and sister in Greater Noida as the sister complained that the brother kept playing a dangerous game on a mobile phone throughout the day and so the mother beat up the son, scolded him and snatched his mobile. The anger of the boy accustomed to playing games on mobile increased. Similarly, a 16 -year -old teenager committed suicide by hanging in Kota a few months ago. Police investigation revealed that the child was addicted to playing pubji games and used to play games in mobile throughout the day. When the family snatched the mobile and refused to give it, he took this wrong step.
Large hospitals in the country have special clinics for the treatment of people suffering from mobile addiction. And the number of patients coming here in which children are in abundance, is now increasing day by day. Mobile and app making companies have become inhuman for their profits that despite knowing all this, people are pushing people into the pit of mental illness. She is making profit by creating new games. With awareness campaign in family and society, the government will have to focus on this emerging big crisis. Children have to encourage to join sports, art, music and other activities. Give children information about online security and teach them how to avoid cyber crimes. It is necessary to give children the correct information about using social media and protect them from its negative effects.
