Sourav Ganguly, one of India’s most successful captains, has made several revelations in his latest interview. During this, he told that VVS Laxman was angry with him and did not talk for 3 months. Actually, Sourav Ganguly shared many revelations and stories in this interview with PTI. He told that as captain, I had to choose one of the most difficult Harbhajan Singh and Anil Kumble for me. These were not the players who would sit outside in a five -day Test and enjoy the break, they were the players who used to come and ask why I am not playing? Conditions are favorable to me, even if they are not they are good luck to have such champions players, who wanted to win the match continuously and win for the team.
At the same time, VVS Laxman’s name is taken in the legendary cricketers of the country, his career was also excellent but despite this he never played the World Cup. He was removed from the team before the 2003 World Cup, replaced by Dinesh Mongia. Captain Sourav Ganguly was behind this decision. Now he spoke openly about this and told that after this Laxman did not even talk to him for 3 months.
During this, Ganguly told that Laxman was unhappy and upset after this. He did not talk to me for 3 months until I reconciled him. Anyone will be angry at being excluded from a big event like World Cup, especially a player with a capacity like Laxman. It was natural for him to be unhappy. After the World Cup, he was happy that our team did well.
Ganguly further said that, when we returned, they also returned to the ODI team, they performed well in Pakistan and Australia. We won for the first time in Pakistan and VVS Laxman played an important role.
Also, Ganguly said about Gautam Gambhir that, he is doing his duty well. He started a bit slow, lost to Australia and New Zealand but after that the team won the Champions Trophy. The series against England is going to grow up for him. I have not worked with him but he is obsessed. I have played with him, he is a great person and respects seniors very much.
