South Africa’s white-ball head coach Rob Walter will withdraw from his post at the end of the month. Walter has resigned for personal reasons. It has been accepted by Cricket South Africa. Since March 2023, Walter, who held this post, has played an important role in the recent successes of South Africa in the ICC tournament.
In Walter’s tenure, Proteas created history by reaching the ICC Mains T20 World Cup final in 2024 for the first time. After losing to India in Barbados, he was runner -up. Recorded eight consecutive wins. The South African team played the semi -finals of the ODI World Cup 2023 in India.
South Africa played 36 ODIs and 31 T20 matches while Walter’s coach. Won the series against Netherlands, Australia, Ireland and Pakistan. The ICC Champions Trophy also reached the semi -finals in 2025. New Zealand defeated him in Lahore.
At the same time, according to the release of CSA, Walter said that it is an honor to give coaching to the protiaz. I am very proud of what we have achieved together. Players, support staff and South African cricket communities have been fantastic in this entire journey.
