The Supreme Court has dismissed a petition seeking to register an FIR against Justice Yashwant Verma in the cash recovery case. The court said that the petitioners should first contact the President and the Prime Minister. The case came to the judge’s house two months after receiving the burnt cash. The Vice President had earlier questioned the non -filing of FIRs and demanded a quick inquiry.

A bench of Justice Abhay Oka and Justice Ujjwal Bhuyan said that the Chief Justice of India has already sent the report of the in-house inquiry committee to the President and Prime Minister with the reply of Justice Verma. The bench said that since the petitioners have not filed an objection to the President and the Prime Minister, demanding action, the writ petition demanding the mandate is not considered. The bench said that there is no need to consider rethinking the other reliefs raised in the petition – such as the in -house investigation process, in the current stage. The petition has been filed by advocate Advocate Mathews Nedumpra and three others. As soon as the case was taken, Justice Oka told Nedumpra, there was an in-house investigation report. It has been sent to the President of India and the Prime Minister of India. So follow the basic rule. The President and the Prime Minister will have to take action.

Justice Oka said that we are not saying that you cannot enter. You do not know the subject matter of the report. We also do not know the content of that report. You should present an orientation by calling them to take action. If they do not take action, you can come here,. Nedumpra then questioned the Veerwamy verdict on the basis of which an internal investigation was done and said that the verdict should be considered again. Justice Oka said, eventually, your main prayer is that action should be taken against the judge concerned. Justice Oka said that please follow the Aadhaar Rules while demanding the mandate writ.
