The ICC Champions Trophy 2025 is going to start from tomorrow i.e. February 19. Team India has launched its jersey for this mega tournament played in Pakistan. In this tournament, Team India will be seen in New Jersey, which has a print of Pakistan.
The Indian cricket team unveiled its jersey for the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 on Monday 17 February. Team India captain Rohit Sharma, Ravindra Jadeja, Hardik Pandya and Pesar Arshdeep Singh appeared in the new jersey. However, the thing that caught everyone’s attention was the name of Pakistan on their jersey. Actually, Pakistan is named on Jersey because the official host of the ICC Champions Trophy is Pakistan.
According to the rules of the ICC, all teams have to write the name of the logo and host country of the ICC event on their chest on their jersey. This is the reason that even though the Indian team has to play their matches in Dubai. But the name of Pakistan has to be written due to the official host. The International Cricket Council itself has shared these pictures, in which Rohit, Jadeja, Pandya and Arshdeep are seen with the ICC Awards.
There was speculation that India would use the official people of the tournament on its jersey, but would remove the name of Pakistan. However, it did not see this. BCCI Secretary Devjit Saikia has confirmed from India Today that the Indian team will follow the ICC guidelines and the same has been seen. However, India did not do so during the Asia Cup 2023, but not ACC, but ICC rules apply.
Looking good 😎
