The Punjab Police said on Saturday that a 24 -year -old man has been arrested for trying to recover from a businessman by becoming the brother of gangster Goldie Brar. Director General of Police Gaurav Yadav said that the accused has been identified as Luvajit, a resident of Bargadi, Bargadi, Faridkot. He sought extortion of one crore rupees from the owner of an automobile showroom and threatened to kill the complainant and his family for not paying the money. Yadav said that preliminary investigation has revealed that the accused used virtual number and social media application to hide his identity and forcibly to avoid the eyes of the police.

Warning people to be careful of fake forced recovery calls, he said that in many recent cases, it has been seen that unknown criminals who have no connection with a gang or gangster are taking advantage of the fear of the public through such false claims. The DGP said that we appeal to the people that whenever a call comes for forced recovery, inform the police immediately, so that the law can do its work. Three months ago, the Anti-Gangter Task Force busted a fake recovery racket operated from Malaysia, targeting singers, traders and affluent persons across Punjab.
