Donald Trump has sought help from PM Modi to stop the war. On the other hand, Prime Minister Modi welcomed the efforts of US President Donald Trump to end the war between Ukraine and Russia and emphasized that the solution of the struggle could not be discovered in the battlefield and the talks and diplomacy for peace and the only diplomacy for peace is the way.
Regarding Russia Ukraine War, Trump said that this bloody struggle should stop. I have spoken to Putin and Jailonsky. With this, Trump has said that Modi can get a better agreement. There has been a major war between Russia and Ukraine for the last three years. Trump had earlier said after talking to Russian President Putin on the phone that I and Putin will meet early in Saudi Arabia but when Trump was asked if Ukraine would also go, he said that there is no such plan yet. After a conversation with Trump, Modi said that India has not been neutral in terms of war and is in favor of peace. In a joint press conference with Trump, Modi said that I have always been in close contact with Russia and Ukraine. I have met leaders of both countries. The world feels that India is neutral but I want to repeat that India has not been neutral. He said that India has actually been in favor of peace. He said that I support Donald Trump’s efforts towards finding a possible solution to end the war. Modi mentioned his message to Russia’s President Vladimir Putin in which he told Putin that it is not a war era. The Prime Minister said that when I met President Putin, I even said that ‘this is not an era of war. I also said that solutions could not be found in the battlefield. The solution can be found only when all the parties come to the conversation table.
He said that India believes that the solution to the war can be found only if the issue is discussed on a platform where both countries (Russia and Ukraine) are present. Trump said on Wednesday that he had a long and meaningful conversation with Putin and he agreed to move forward towards negotiating to end the war. The US President even said that he and Putin agreed to start a conversation immediately by their respective teams.
