Former Indian spinner Ravichandran Ashwin has emphasized the need to normalize things in Indian cricket. His remarks have come amid the demand to abolish superstar culture within the team. It has emphasized this after India’s defeat to Australia in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy. The Board of Control for Cricket in India i.e. BCCI has imposed all kinds of restrictions on the players.

R Ashwin has now said in a video shared on his YouTube channel that players are not actors. He also said that superstardam should not be promoted in the Indian cricket team. The Tamil Nadu spinner said that cricketers should be so that mangoes can connect further. He has also emphasized the immediate need to normalize things to move forward.

The off -spinner said that it is important to normalize things in Indian cricket. We should not promote superstardam and super celebrity culture in the Indian cricket team. We should normalize all these things while moving forward. We are cricketers. We are not an actor or superstar. We are a player and we should be a person from whom common people can join and so that they can compare themselves.

He further said that, for example if you are Rohit Sharma or Virat Kohli, who has achieved a lot. When you score another century, it is not just about your achievement. It should be as usual and our goals should be bigger than these achievements. Team India’s head coach Gautam Gambhir has taken a step towards ending this superstar culture. The BCCI has given clear instructions to the players that now no player will travel separate from the team. All teams will travel in bus.
