no coercive action against karnataka state cricket committee official high court big relief

The Karnataka High Court has given great relief to the State Cricket Association in the stampede case at M Chinnaswamy Stadium. The High Court in its order on Friday asked the officials not to take any punitive action against the cricket association officials.

State Cricket Association officials had moved the High Court demanding the cancellation of the FIR lodged against them in the stampede case. After winning the IPL for the first time, the RCB team celebrated on 4 June at M Chinnaswamy Stadium. At the same time, 11 people were killed and 56 others were injured in a stampede outside the stadium.

Police have registered an FIR against RCB event management firm DNA Entertainment Networks Private Limited and Karnataka State Cricket Association in this case.

The FIR filed in Kannada states that program was made without adequate arrangements. There were no adequate security arrangements required for the fans to enter the stadium peacefully. The FIR has the names of RCB franchise, DNA and KSCA officials.
