Bijapur Naxal Encounter: Five Naxalites including two women killed in an encounter with security forces in Bijapur, Chhattisgarh

Two Maoists were allegedly killed on Saturday in an ongoing anti -Naxal operation at Indravati National Park in Bijapur. The campaign continued for the third day, and the security forces have intensified their efforts against the rebels in the dense forest area.

The bodies of five Naxalites, including two women, have been recovered after the encounter with the security forces. Police officials gave this information on Saturday. Police officials said that in the ongoing anti -Naxal operation in Indravati National Park area of ​​the district, security forces have killed a total of seven Naxalites including two Naxalite leaders in the last four days. The bodies of all the seven Naxalites killed have been recovered.

Anti -Naxal campaign continues

 Officials said that from June 4, anti -Naxal operations are going on in Indravati National Park area of ​​Bijapur district. The campaign includes the special work force (STF) of the State Police, District Reserve Guard (DRG) and Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) personnel of Cobra Battalion. He said that on June 5, the body of Maoists leader Sudhakar alias Gautam was recovered by security forces. After this, the body of Telangana State Committee member Bhaskar was recovered on June 6.

There was a reward of Rs 40 lakh on Sudhakar and Rs 45 lakh on Bhaskar

Officials said the security forces recovered the bodies of three other Maoists during the encounters on Friday and Saturday. Today, the body of two other Naxalites was recovered. He said that efforts are on to identify five unidentified Naxalites recovered by the security forces.

Seized a large stock of weapons and ammunition

 Security forces seized a large stock of arms and ammunition from the scene, including two AK-47 rifles. Police officials said some security personnel were injured during the operation due to snake bite, bee sting, dehydration and other campaign injuries.

They are being provided necessary medical treatment. Everyone’s condition is normal and is out of danger. Officials said that detailed information is being collected in this regard. Earlier, security forces killed Nambala Keshav Rao alias Basavaraju (70) in the Bastar region by the security forces of India (Maoist). Basavaraju was killed on 21 May in an encounter in the border of Narayanpur-Bijapur district.
