Gangster Goldie Brar has reportedly claimed responsibility for the twin blasts that occurred outside two popular night clubs in Chandigarh’s Sector 26 on Tuesday morning. In a social media post, Brar claimed that his gang targeted De’Ora restaurant and Seville Bar and Lounge after the owners ignored extortion demands made through phone calls.
Although the authenticity of these claims is yet to be confirmed, Chandigarh Police have said that they are actively investigating the matter and reviewing the related social media posts. Senior officials have stressed that no conclusions will be drawn until evidence confirms the allegations.

The blast, said to be of low intensity, took place around 4 a.m. when two unidentified men riding a motorcycle hurled crude explosive devices outside the establishments. Fortunately, there were no casualties and no major property damage.
Early reports indicate that the devices were made with thin jute ropes using potash mixed with cracker material. Police have clarified that the crude devices cannot be classified as bombs, although they were used in sufficient quantities to produce a noticeable effect.

Officials are analyzing CCTV footage from the surrounding areas and seeking statements of eyewitnesses to identify the suspects. Talking about the materials used, a senior police officer said, “It appears to be an attempt to make a homemade bomb using locally available substances. The intention was to scare rather than cause serious harm.”
According to Chandigarh Police sources, the incident cannot be classified as a bomb as the substance used was potash mixed with firecrackers, which was in very high quantities. It said an attempt was made to detonate homemade bombs outside night clubs in Chandigarh using potash, which is used in firecrackers. Some thin jute ropes were also recovered from the spot.
Night clubs were closed at the time of the blasts, so it is believed that these blasts were done only to spread panic.
