Water supply will be closed due to repair work
Hence, residents of the affected areas are advised to use water judiciously. “Due to repair of leakage in 500 mm diameter rising main originating from Chandrawal Water Works inside the premises of Dr. Ambedkar National Memorial, Civil Lines, drinking water supply from Chandrawal Water Works will be affected for 12 hours from 11 am on September 20 as Chandrawal Water Works will remain closed,” the statement said.
Urge to prepare by storing enough water
The DJB emphasised the importance of using water judiciously during this period and urged residents to prepare by storing sufficient water in advance to avoid inconvenience. The maintenance shutdown is likely to affect daily routines, which is likely to disrupt water availability for homes and businesses. “Residents of the affected areas are urged to use water judiciously during this time to ensure minimal disruption,” the DJB said.
Facility of water tanker on demand
To manage the disruption in water supply during scheduled maintenance, the Delhi Jal Board has decided to provide water tankers on demand. Residents can request water supply by contacting the DJB helpline or the central control room. This service aims to minimise the inconvenience caused by temporary stoppage of water supply. The maintenance work underlines the importance of regular infrastructure upgrades to ensure a reliable water supply system. Residents are requested to stay updated with the situation and take necessary precautions such as storing water in advance to minimise the impact of supply disruption, the DJB said.
