Shahid Khattak, president and MP of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, the south region of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), criticized Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif during the Parliament session on Friday and called him a coward to fail to make a single statement against India and Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
Pakistan’s Parliament saw a fierce tussle. There was a debate between Pak ministers on how the government is dealing with this issue amidst increasing tension between India and Pakistan. Shahid Khattak, president and MP of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, the south region of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), criticized Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif during the Parliament session on Friday and called him a coward to fail to make a single statement against India and Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Criticizing the government’s attitude, MP Khattak said that not a single statement came against India.

The incident took place after the tension between India and Pakistan reached a new level, when the army carried out accurate attacks on 7 May under the ‘Operation Sindoor’ in response to the terrorist attacks in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir on 22 April. These attacks killed 26 people including a Nepali citizen. The government said in media briefing that nine terrorist bases were targeted in Pakistan -occupied Kashmir (POK) in this campaign. The target of military action was to destroy the infrastructure associated with terrorist organizations including Lashkar-e-Taiba and Jaish-e-Mohammed.
