dwayne bravo retired from all forms of cricket joins kolkata knight riders as mentor for ipl 2025

West Indies all-rounder Dwayne Bravo has retired from all formats of cricket. Also, he has left CSK team in IPL and joined KKR as a mentor. Bravo will replace Gautam Gambhir, who recently left KKR to become the head coach of Team India.

Bravo’s final Caribbean Premier League season was cut short due to an injury suffered earlier this week. He wrote on Instagram on Thursday that, today is the day when I say goodbye to the game that has given me everything. 21 years as a professional cricketer – it has been an incredible journey, with many ups and downs. The most important thing is that I was able to live my dream because I gave 100 percent every step of the way.

Bravo ended his IPL career last year and took a break from international cricket in 2021. Since then he has tried his hand at coaching, working with Chennai Kings and Afghanistan team. Knight Riders Group CEO Venky Mysore said in a statement issued on Friday that it is exciting to have DJ Bravo joining us. His tireless effort to win, his vast experience and deep knowledge will greatly benefit our franchise and players.

Apart from KKR, Bravo will also take charge of the Knight Riders franchise in CPL, MLC and IL20, ending his long association with Chennai Super Kings. Talking about his role in KKR, Bravo said, I have been a part of Trinbago Knight Riders for the last 10 years in the CPL. Having played for and against the Knight Riders in several leagues, I have a lot of respect for their way of working.
