As per the provision of Real Estate (Regulation and Regulation) Act, 2016, Real Estate Regulatory Authority (RERA), Bihar has been carrying out awareness generation work in Bihar since its inception and now through its ‘RERA Bihar Se Rubaaru’ programme. Under this, awareness generation work is also being done outside the state, especially in places where people of Bihar live in large numbers.
The series ‘RERA Bihar Se Rubaru’ started today from Delhi, where a large number of home buyers and promoters hailing from Bihar reside. Addressing the participants at the event, Vivek Kumar Singh, Chairman, Real Estate Regulatory Authority (RERA), Bihar, said that home buyers planning to purchase a flat or plot in any real estate project in Bihar should be informed about the details before taking any decision. Speaking at an awareness program organized by RERA Bihar here today, Singh said, “Any real estate project with more than eight flats or more than 500 square meters of land area must be registered with the authority. Home buyers can check the details of the registered project on the website of RERA Bihar.

“Prevention is better than cure and hence I urge home buyers to exercise caution before investing in any project,” he said. On this occasion, the calendar of 2025 of RERA Bihar was also released. On this occasion, former Chairman of RERA Bihar Naveen Verma and Local Commissioner of Bihar Kundan Kumar also participated in the program.
Sharing his views, Verma said that the positive changes made in RERA Bihar in the last nine months deserve special praise. He also said that most of the complaint cases filed in RERA Bihar are of projects before the implementation of the Act.
The Resident Commissioner addressed the participants on the occasion and thanked RERA Bihar for organizing the event. He said that the ranking system of promoters and projects introduced by RERA Bihar will help in introducing healthy competition among the promoters and it will ultimately be beneficial for home buyers who invest their hard-earned money to buy a house.
The event was attended by a large number of promoters and home buyers, especially those from Bihar. On this occasion, a team from RERA Bihar gave a presentation, in which the promoters were given information about the documents required for registration of real estate projects. A separate presentation was given to home buyers explaining the points they need to consider before investing in any project. An open session was also held at the end of the program, in which the doubts of the participants regarding the RERA Act were resolved.
Senior officials of RERA Bihar including Alok Kumar (Secretary) and Rajesh Thadani (OSD) also participated in the program. Two short films made by RERA Bihar were also shown during the program with the aim of creating awareness.
The RERA Bihar face to face program aims to inform the promoters about the work being done by RERA Bihar for regulation and development of the real estate sector in the state and households planning to purchase a flat/plot in any real estate project in the state. Buyers are made aware of the details that need to be thoroughly examined before investing.
