Voting is going on for 90 member assembly seats in Haryana. The fate of a total of 1031 candidates is at stake in this election. Meanwhile, former Deputy Chief Minister of Haryana Dushyant Chautala on Saturday expressed full confidence in his alliance with Azad Samaj Party (Kanshi Ram). He said that his alliance would win a significant majority. Dushyant Chautala, great grandson of former Deputy Prime Minister Devi Lal, along with his wife and mother arrived at a polling booth in Sirsa to cast their vote.

Speaking to the media, Chautala said, “This time we are in alliance with the Azad Samaj Party and we will get good numbers.” He said, “This is a big celebration of democracy and I appeal to the people of Haryana that their vote will decide the future of Haryana, so all of you come out of your homes and cast as many votes as possible by 6 pm. We are confident that the way we have worked for Haryana, our alliance will get a huge majority and our allies will be given a chance to work for the development of Haryana. All the 90 constituencies are equal and the party workers worked very hard. I am confident that we will get more votes than the last election.”

On the possibility of an alliance with the BJP, he said, “Wait for the election results on October 8; all discussions can take place after that.” It is noteworthy that BJP and JJP had joined hands in the 2019 assembly elections, when JJP fell short of majority to form the government. This alliance lasted for more than four years till March 12, just ahead of the crucial 2024 Lok Sabha elections. remained in power, after which the BJP had to depend on the support of independent MLAs. In the 2019 elections, JJP had won 10 seats, while BJP and Congress had won 40 and 31 seats respectively.
