Hezbollah fired about 250 rockets at Israel, seven people injured

Extremist organization Hezbollah on Sunday attacked Israel with about 250 rockets and other weapons, injuring at least seven people. It was Hezbollah’s deadliest attack in months as some of the rockets reached the Tel Aviv area in the center of Israel.

Israel’s Magen David Adom rescue service said it treated seven people injured in attacks launched by Hezbollah on Israel. Hezbollah carried out the attacks in response to a deadly Israeli attack in Beirut amid pressure from negotiators for a ceasefire.

Meanwhile, the Lebanese army said that one Lebanese soldier was killed and 18 others were injured in the Israeli attack on Sunday. The Israeli army expressed regret over the incident and said that the attack was carried out in a war zone against Hezbollah and that the army’s operation is only against extremists.

More than 40 Lebanese soldiers have been killed in Israeli attacks since the war between Israel and Hezbollah began. However, the Lebanese army has largely stayed away from this war.

Lebanon’s acting Prime Minister Najib Mikati condemned the attack, calling it an attack on US-led ceasefire efforts. Israel’s military said about 250 rockets were fired on Sunday, some of which were intercepted. At least 29 people were killed and 67 injured in Israeli air strikes on Beirut without warning on Saturday, according to Lebanon’s health ministry.
