On Saturday, a stray dog ​​was seen pressing the dead newborn in the mouth near the toilet of a government hospital in Indore district of Madhya Pradesh, after which a security guard drove him away and rescued the body.

The officials and police of the Civil Hospital of Mhow, about 25 km from the district headquarters, have started investigating the events related to the dead body of the newborn and subsequent incidents.

Dr. HR Verma, in-charge of Mhow Civil Hospital, told ‘PTI-Bhasha’, “According to CCTV footage, the incident took place between late night to one and a half hours. During this time a teenage girl appeared to go to the toilet. When we asked the employees, it was found that the 17 -year -old girl had come with a complaint of stomach ache and was admitted at 9 pm on Friday night. We suspect that the girl has given birth to a child in the toilet. ”

Dr. Verma said that the girl disappeared from the hospital with an unknown person shortly after. Other officials said that there was every possibility that the infant was born dead and a dog started taking him from the toilet area, then a security guard rescued the body from the dog.

Dr. Verma said, “We did a post -mortem of the dead body on Saturday morning and the report is awaited. The preliminary report states that delivery was prematurely. The body has been kept in the mortuary. The police has started investigating the incident and we will provide all CCTV footage to help them. ”

Meanwhile, sources said that the hospital has three entrances, which are kept open at night. He said that stray dogs enter a gate near the store room.

Sources said that the newborn’s body was partially eaten by dogs. Verma admitted that the body was mutilated. Mhow police station in -charge Rahul Sharma said that the investigation of the case has been started. The incident took place four days after the murder of a four-year-old child by a herd of stray dogs on Suvasra-Runija Road in Mandsaur district.
