After securing a landslide victory in the state assembly elections, Jharkhand Mukti Morcha leader and newly elected CM Hemant Soren is all set to take oath on November 28.

Jharkhand Chief Minister-designate and JMM chief Hemant Soren, along with his wife and party leader Kalpana Soren, met Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah in Delhi on Tuesday. After meeting Shah in Parliament, Soren said, Hello to all of you. There will be meetings in the coming days also. There are a lot of things. We have to form our own government. We have come here for blessings. Amid preparations to form a new government in Jharkhand, Soren hinted at further discussions with the Centre.

After securing a landslide victory in the state assembly elections, Jharkhand Mukti Morcha leader and newly elected CM Hemant Soren is all set to take oath on November 28. Earlier on Monday, he met Governor Santosh Kumar Gangwar and submitted his resignation. Apart from this, he also staked claim to form the government in the next assembly. Along with Hemant Soren, many other MLAs can also take oath on Thursday. Meanwhile, discussion has started on the possible names of MLAs who will become ministers. Here is a list of possible names that could be included in the Hemant Soren cabinet.

The JMM-led alliance on Saturday came to power in Jharkhand for the second consecutive time, winning 56 seats in the 81-member assembly, defeating the BJP-led NDA. JMM won 34 seats, while alliance partners Congress and RJD won 16 and four constituencies respectively. CPI (ML) Liberation won two seats. On the other hand, the NDA had to be content with just 24 seats, of which the BJP won 21, while its three allies – AJSU Party, Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas) and JD (U) got one seat each.
