Laxman told how he was successful in killing 29 Naxalites in an encounter in Chhote Bethiyan of Kanker district. In a special conversation with ABP Live, he told that in view of the second phase of voting in Kanker district, Naxalites are planning to cause harm on the day of voting. Information was received about continuous movement in Chhote Bethia and Partapur areas, Naxalites had also carried out an IT blast incident in the same area during the assembly elections, in which a soldier was martyred.
Keeping this in mind, this time also the information about Naxalites being active in this area with the intention of doing some major incident was received from the informer, this information was given to Kanker SP and after that an operation was launched with BSF soldiers. .
Tried his best to drive away the Naxalites
After getting solid evidence, he led the DRG soldiers and reached the Hapatola incident site between Koronar and Binagunda. He told that however reaching here was full of difficulties because the Naxalites had planted IEDs at many places and IEDs were found at many places. A blast also took place, but fortunately no DRG soldier got hit by the IED.
He told that the information about the arrival of Naxalite soldiers had already been received from his small action team, and his small action team was trying its best to drive away these Naxalites by bursting firecrackers, but from one side the BSF soldiers And on the other hand, they themselves along with DRG soldiers started surrounding the Naxalites.
The encounter lasted from 11 am to 4:00 pm
After that, the Naxalites present there were asked to surrender, but the first firing took place from the Naxalites' side and unfortunately the bullet hit BSF Inspector Ramesh Chaudhary, after which firing went on from both the sides.
Laxman Kevat told that the firing which started at 11 am on Tuesday continued till around 4:00 pm, after which some Naxalites escaped from the spot taking the help of dense forest and high mountains, but after the encounter stopped, 29 Naxalites were found during the search. The body was recovered, along with 30 weapons and explosive material of Naxalites were also recovered from the spot. In this encounter, two BSF soldiers and one DRG soldier were injured.
Have encountered 34 Naxalites so far
Laxman Kevat told that due to posting in Naxal affected areas for the last 12 years, he has started knowing the tactics of Naxalites very well.
Although even today Naxalites have more geographical information in these areas, but they were fortunate that they were successful in all the encounters in which they were involved in Naxal operations, and so far they have encountered 34 Naxalites in different encounters. For this reason he has been awarded the President's Bravery Award 6 times. Laxman Kevat told ABP Live that in future also he will continue to go to Naxal operations to eliminate Naxalism from Bastar and will continue to perform his duty.
