He said that a decade ago, 257 kg of drugs were caught while being smuggled and this year this figure has increased to 12,617 kg.
He said that similarly, the seizure of other banned items has also increased by almost 500 times from 7,000 kg to around 4.15 lakh kg in a decade. Rai said that the seizure of huge quantities of drugs in an effort to stop drug trafficking means that the smuggling conspiracy inside India is being stopped.
