On the occasion of Ram Navami, 'Surya Tilak' of Ram Lalla was done through an elaborate system consisting of mirrors and lenses in Ayodhya on Wednesday. Through this device the sun's rays reached the forehead of the idol of Ram. This is the first Ram Navami after the consecration of the Ram idol in the new temple inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on January 22. Temple spokesperson Prakash Gupta said that Surya Tilak darshan was performed for about four to five minutes, in which the sun's rays were focused directly on the forehead of Ram Lal's idol.

PM Modi further said that such a time has come after 500 years when Lord Ram is celebrating his birthday in his home.
