So far 1.20 crore people have enrolled for the Atal Pension Yojana (APY) in Uttar Pradesh. Officials gave this information on Friday. Officials said that nominations for the scheme in Uttar Pradesh have been much more than in other states of the country.
According to a statement, while implementing Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s ‘Vision’ in mission mode, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has launched a widespread awareness campaign to bring the Atal Pension Yojana to the people. According to the statement, the scheme was promoted in rural and urban areas and banks and other committees were also linked to this campaign.
The statement said that the Atal Pension Yojana is being operated through a total of 60 stakeholders including a total of eight major banks. According to the statement, the districts where the maximum enrollment was included in the districts like Prayagraj, Lucknow, Bareilly, Fatehpur and Kanpur city.
Under the Atal Pension Yojana, Indian citizens aged 18 to 40 of the unorganized sector can deposit small amount on monthly, quarterly or half -yearly basis and this amount is automatically deposited from their bank account.
The person gets a monthly pension of Rs 1,000 to 5,000 after completing the age of 60. Starting at an early age is less contribution and if the account holder dies, the pension gets to his spouse and after the death of both, the deposit is given to the nominee. Applications for the scheme can be made bank, post office or online.
