Respect to Islam and Gift for Muslim ‘Book’ Role: New Age, New Hope
The book “Respect to Islam and Gift for Muslim” written on the background, historical perspective and solution of Waqf law became the ideological backbone of this movement. Its release included Kiren Rijiju, Jagdambika Pal, Muslim Rashtriya Manch guide Indresh Kumar, Sangh’s contact head Ramlal, Bihar Governor Arif Mohammad Khan and Montenegro ambassador Jennis Darbari. The book was described by Kiren Rijiju as an encyclopedia of Waqf and advised everyone to read. This book also reached Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, Haryana Governor Bandaru Dattatreya and Karnataka Governor Thawarchand Gehlot.
Through the workers of the forum, this book reached the masses in which the disturbances in Waqf were exposed well. At the same time, the support of the bill was explained in detail. After the law was enacted, whether possible benefits would reach the marginalized Muslims, it was also widely highlighted. It was told in the book that this law would curb the misuse of Waqf properties, bring transparency and will give its rights to the deprived sections of the society. This will realize the thinking of ‘Waqf with development’ and will lead Muslim society to a self -sufficient and respectable future. ‘
Through the book, it was told that Waqf has assets of about 2 lakh crores, but the annual income is only 163 crores, while in view of the report of the Sachar Committee, according to today’s valuation and infection, the income should be about 1.25 lakh crores annually. With this income, Waqf Board could open hospitals, universities, schools, nursing homes, skill development centers etc. This would benefit the education, employment, health of Muslims, the unemployment rate would also decrease. But the Waqf Board did not take anything. On the other hand, Mata Mangla Foundation opened a 1000 -bed hospital, Mata Vaishnav Devi Trust opened the university on 470 acres. Similarly, Reliance Foundation and Aga Khan performs public interest programs. Sir Syed Ahmed Khan formed Aligarh Muslim University from the Waqf of the people.
Welcome to law: experts’ opinion
Pro. (Dr.) Shahid Akhtar, Executive Chairman, NCMEI:
This law is the victory of truth. For years, there were complaints of possession and corruption on Waqf properties, now their solution will be possible. Indian Muslims remained backward due to the inaction of the Waqf Board, while they have the largest land bank in the world. If these properties had been used properly, Muslim society would have been a pioneer in education, health and economic sector. The bill will curb the corrupt elements who misused Waqf properties for years.
Dr. Shalini Ali, social worker and analyst:
The so -called Rahbar was afraid of the digitization of Waqf properties, the CAG audit and transparency, as this would exposed their illegal properties. The bill is a challenge for those who used Waqf properties for their personal interests for years. Now their real face will come in front of the society and the right use of Waqf properties will be in the field of education, health and employment.
Advocate Shiraz Qureshi, expert on Muslim affairs
Some elements were spreading rumors against the bill that it would interfere with Muslim properties. This was a sheer lie. This law is enacted to make Waqf properties transparent and provide their rights to poor Muslims. Earlier some special people were sitting on these properties, but now it will be used for education, health and employment.
Shahid Saeed, Senior Journalist and Social Activists:
If Prime Minister Narendra Modi had passed this bill before 2014 before the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, then who could have stopped them? Despite this, even when he did not have an absolute majority, he also proved the bill by passing this bill that he worries about the marginalized people of Muslim society. This law has brought a new hope for millions of poor Muslims who had not yet received any benefit from Waqf properties.
