Union Minister Rajiv Ranjan Singh alias Lallan Singh on Saturday criticized Samajwadi Party president Akhilesh Yadav for asking Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar to walk out of the BJP-led NDA. Lallan was responding to reporters’ questions about the statement made by the former Uttar Pradesh CM on Friday, when he accused the Yogi Adityanath government of stopping him from paying tribute to legendary socialist leader Jayaprakash Narayan.

Opposition parties, including the SP and the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), protested against Samajwadi Party (SP) chief Akhilesh Yadav being stopped from visiting the Jai Prakash Narayan International Convention Center (JPNIC) in Vipin section of Gomti Nagar in Lucknow, the capital of Uttar Pradesh. State President of Congress Ajay Rai, a key component of the opposition ‘India’ alliance, also termed it as dictatorship of the BJP government. Deputy Chief Minister Keshav Prasad Maurya described Akhilesh Yadav’s efforts as double character, while State BJP President Bhupendra Singh Choudhary termed it anarchy and hooliganism of SP.
