Omar Abdullah said that from day one, we have been trying to get statehood back to Jammu and Kashmir. There are certain things that people want and we can’t cater to because it’s a UT. He said the important thing was that the proposal was not rejected. It passed. A door has opened. Along with this he said that Congress is not a part of our government, they are supporting us from outside. Our government has brought this proposal and apart from BJP, most of the MLAs including Congress have passed it.
He said that when BJP targeted Congress… then Congress became helpless and they had to weaken it a little but it will not make any difference. Omar Abdullah also addressed the recent incident of atrocities on civilians by soldiers in Kishtwar and demanded strict punishment for those responsible. He expressed disappointment that despite past incidents, no lessons were learned. He expressed hope that the Army will investigate the matter and take action against the culprits.
