Jay Shah, who took over as chairman of the International Cricket Council (ICC) earlier this month, on Thursday met top officials of the 2032 Brisbane Olympic Organizing Committee and discussed the possibility of including cricket in the Summer Games.
Cricket will return to the Olympics after 128 years when it will be part of the 2028 Los Angeles Games. One of Shah’s immediate priorities is to find a solution to hosting the Champions Trophy in February-March. All stakeholders have agreed to the hybrid model but no announcement has been made yet, leading to speculation over the future of the tournament.
